A case of agranulocytosis induced by Thiazina has been clinically studied. A 18
year-old female patient was admitted to our depth with the complaints of high fever,
chill, sore throats and generalizes rash on the whole body surface. She has been
medicated Thiazina 3 tablets daily since March 1. '68 under the diagnosis of pulmonary
tuberculosis. Rash developed on the 20th of March followed 3 days later by high fever
with chill, and severe sore throat in addition to dysphagia. Cardinal physical findings on
admission were generalized rash, ulcerated-and-dirty coated tonsils, and the enlarged
liver. Initial W.S.C. count was 100/§§, and its differential count was as followings:
Segmented neutrophil 4%; lymphocytes, 94%; immature cell 2%. Bone marrow findings
were compatible with agranulocytosis showing maturation arrest. The treatments were
chiefly aimed to the infection and sore throat
